At a recent climate change conference, President Joe Biden made a grand entrance in a massive 75-car motorcade. The convoy, which included limousines, SUVs, and even a few armored tanks, was reportedly necessary to ensure the president’s safety during the event.
But despite the massive carbon footprint of his arrival, Biden wasted no time in lecturing the gathered crowd about the importance of reducing our carbon emissions and fighting climate change.
“Look, folks, we’ve got to do everything we can to save this planet,” Biden said, as he gestured to the dozens of idling vehicles behind him. “That’s why I’m calling on all of you to make small changes in your everyday lives, like using paper straws instead of plastic ones.”
The irony of Biden’s message was not lost on many in attendance, who took to social media to express their frustration and disbelief.
“Joe Biden arrives in a 75-car motorcade to lecture us on why we need to use paper straws. The hypocrisy is real, folks,” wrote one Twitter user.
Another added, “If Joe Biden really cared about the environment, he wouldn’t need a 75-car motorcade. Actions speak louder than words, Mr. President.”
Despite the criticism, Biden continued to push his message of environmentalism throughout the conference, calling on world leaders to take bold action to reduce carbon emissions and combat climate change.
